I’m sick and tired of always feeling this way. It’s like my heart and soul are spinning down the drain. When God woke up on Christmas Day, he said you know son I’d like to celebrate. So what, who am I? Can I trust myself? Believing all the lies, or let it go. So hang me up in your closet, cause I’m all tied up in your logic. And if you find out that you lost it, or whatever it was, I swear to God you have beginner’s luck. Well it seems every time that I put it down, page after page til I throw it out, I can’t write a song when I've got you on my mind. So what, and who am I? Can I trust myself? Believing all the lies, or letting go. So hang me up in your closet, cause I’m all tied up in your logic. And if you find out that you lost it, or whatever it was, I swear to God you have beginners luck. Hang me up in your closet, darling, just like everyone else.

Avalon 03:42
She had it all. The city boys stare when she walks. I’m still in awe, knows what she wants. It's just like me to fall so hard, she loves me not. She walks alone, ageless like a purple rose, a firework watched by the world you’d probably know her. Have you seen this girl? I keep telling myself that I’m incapable to love. Well maybe this time will tell, I don’t know. Hey girl, I gotta save you from this whole world. This mockingbird won't sing a note, and I’ve been telling the whole world so many times that you’re all mine tonight. In her eyes lies a deep sea, like diamonds in the waves. Don’t be fooled, cause she can out drink anyone this girl can shut it down, with her black dress on and tequila in her mouth. Can anybody tell where’s my girl? So look alive because I see her now. I gotta tell you why, I wanna be your shot in the dark. Here’s your song inspired by bad weather, does it get you off? Does the score even matter? All I want, I wanna be your shot in the dark. Just let me be your shot in the dark.

This one’s been cold for months on end, but I'll admit I deserve every single bit. I was lost, thinking that you’d be my lighthouse to shine my way, and when you held me right on Hampton beach. Paradise on the couch with your hair in my mouth you were all that one could need, and when it hurts you, know that it kills me. Where did all our love go? I’ll explain the truth and you’ll just call it lies, can we cut out the bullshit and wipe your eyes? There are reasons she left in the first place, and those reasons they’ll keep you from coming back to me. I'll sneak out when you’re sleeping. It’s clear you hate me, but that’s nothing compared to how I hate myself. Your family says it’s who you are, your feelings fade right from the start. I’ve got to get my head on straight, these night terrors will fade and in time my faith. Open the door, cause I’m close to your house. If you need a word come and hear my sound. Open the door, the heart wants what it wants. Tell me, is this love? Can you tell me now is this love?

Fall of 1998 04:10
It was the fall of 1998 when you sat me down and started to shake. By then I had seen the suitcase and my face drew blank. My mother cried every night in my arms, and told her ten year old she couldn’t go on. I’d pretend that I was sleeping when she talks to God for help. New Years Eve brought a nervous breakdown. She said she's given up on happiness now so should I. I couldn’t look her in the eyes, til I grew an inch that night, when I said everything was gonna be alright. If you could describe the feeling tell me what it’s like. I’ll go for the ride, cause how much worse could it get from here? When will we learn each and every year, how two fools could fall in love with anyone in any place right now. So put your faith in a world that’s out of time, you can do what you want just keep your fingers crossed. Forever doesn't mean as long as you want, until the Ativan and gin both wear off. Somebody please inform the wagon that they missed my stop. Sometimes I wonder if I could feel that bad, to never know the only kid that I had. Sometimes I wonder if he'd fuck up just like his old man. If I could explain that I had everything, I wouldn’t have to sleep for days. Cause this family tree broke all its family ties, and I’m never going back home.

Boomerang 04:26
I sat and waited for a little while for you to come around. Like two stars crossing in the midnight sky, it was always over by the morning light. Troubled love when it’s wrong can feel so right. Don’t you worry I still have a plan, and if you want it we can ride this to a foreign land. But I will say this love is overdue, I’ll walk straight into the great beyond with you. I always saw you as my boomerang, and every time you left I know you’d be just a thought just a call just a matter of time until you’re here with me. Boomerang, forgot your heart with me. You can pick it up next time you come around, then I'll throw you back to the great beyond and out. She was more than just a ‘once upon a time’ so much more than fairy tales and poetic lines. She was the real McCoy and knew how to move, and this American boy was singing the blues. Now I will say this love is overdue, I’ll walk straight into the great beyond with you. When you finally come back to stay, I’ll run into my wall of human doubt and disarray. But now six months has passed, and I finally see that I can only count on you my boomerang caught in this nighttime scene. Can’t depend on the wind or on anything else until you’re here, hey boomerang.

1% 04:28
Worthless is the best that I’m worth. Every time I put my faith forward I’m back in the dirt. Why am I destined to fail? I guess I’m just the fool of a lifetime. She left town like a bat out of hell, disgusted by the look of me a shell of myself. Why is my life just a tale? A fool for a lifetime. So I planted my feet and got my back off the ground. I took a one way ticket to my side of the clouds, but I still got more of growing up to do. You are the 1% that got away, I’m thinking love wont work for me. Now let me thank you for those times I thought they never would, until things end for good. My timing was the first thing that went, I showed you the Pacific Ocean just days before you left. I guess our favorite shows can't keep you here anymore than I can. So I sold all my records, ended up at the beach. I watched the tide roll in as the sand engulfed my feet. Too much of my pride's at stake here if we call it a loss and wait for the next train. Too much of my life's at stake here. So tell me, are you coming with me?

Let's stay away from each other these days cause I know it's for the best. And this song will go out to every sucker about to drag himself right back into that mess, but that’s not me. I look forward to spring and to new beginnings, I got a feeling this here’s the one. So I'll throw all my chips in and let it all ride again, and when it crashes down we’ll just play dumb. But I swear I'll make this short and sweet, cause time's too precious to waste it all on me. Now the walls are caving in it seems, all thanks to you. We will never be legends, we can’t change our fate. Oh yeah we got the ticket now, bring out the kids cause the blow outs going down. I guess this slum dog found it out that the candles burning at both ends, as we leave this life all up to chance. When there’s no more time for romance scream up to the sky cause we both know that it's like the stars aligned, at just the right time.

The Distance 03:52
Say good night, close your eyes, summer’s over now. Starry night, moonlit skies, we’re all sober now. Should we speak what’s on our minds? Or leave it locked up deep inside? Will this be our final hour? Or will someone break this ice? Everybody wants, everybody needs, everybody sleeps, and everybody breathes. Everybody saw, yeah everybody heard, everybody hold onto these words. We were meant to go the distance, everything was so much different then. The time has come, the earth has turned, I wonder if we’ll ever learn. When memories die and tongues are tied, are your ears open now? So if you want it then take it. If you need it don’t fake it, the time to speak up is now. Everybody dreams and everyone believes that everyone will find everything they need. Everybody’s loved and everybody’s lost, everybody knows what that can cost. The table’s set so make your plans, we might not get a second chance, and this could be our only chance.

The flashback starts and I’m barely alive, I wish I was anywhere else. I can tell by the way, by the look you have. Nobody wants to be the odd man out, but if you give us chance, I will wait. So tell me something good, and help me feel again. Take me to the lightest point of town so I can steal your lips. Love is in the wind, put a little heart in the mix. I can't wait cause I got no patience, I cant go down the road without your help. She thought that anybody else could get her off. Do you still feel safe? I'll take you down. So if you got a torch to bury, and if you gotta grin and bare it. I can carry out this memory, and that’s enough to tell me something good and help me feel again. Take me to the lightest point of town so I can steal your lips. Love is in the wind, put a little heart in the mix.

I won't ever see your love again, Holly can you hear me cause you keep me coming back. I want to know how she feels this week, and the flavor of the lies stuck inside her cheek. If you think I’m gonna call you back, Holly you’ll be waiting til the clock begins to crack. Tick tock to the stomp of your feet, what’s the flavor of the lies stuck in your cheek? Are you the memory that just wont fade away? Forgotten like the rest of them to kill my pain. They say my lies are what carries me on. This city cries "woah" as they all sing along. La la la la la you brought me here, you found me out but it just wasn’t enough. I stopped reading all your letters yesterday, I gave them to the trash man to take away. I know I can't erase them, so I can face them, and I'll replace them with new lies. Close my eyes, maybe dream of something better, back when Nana knit me sweaters, when times were simple and things were better. Tell me why are you the memory that just wont fade away. I’m off to see the candy man to kill my pain. So go ahead and blame me if it helps you sleep at night. You’re not the first honey, you wont be the last. Now go and play the victim while you can.

about

Callback Holly Boston, Massachusetts

There are few genres that are as infectious as pop punk. If you like it, you pretty much live for it. Anytime a newer band shows up in the pop punk arena, it’s met with excitement, worry and an almost unbearable nostalgia. Callback Holly is the next promising act for pop punk fans.
